Hello readers!
Im just going to skip the long, sophisticated intro that you guys probably read my blog for and skip to the boring details! yay!
As you already know, I a valued staff member of the yearbook crew, and hence get free reign to go to all of the events. Well, I went to the first play of the year!!! (out of 3)
This play, 'the secret garden' was about a girl who's parents died in India, and she is sent to england into a manor belonging to her uncle.
She is VERY spoiled at that time, and refuses to even eat the special porridge that the cook makes for her. Her caretaker tries to hire a governess, but the girl absolutely refuses.
After a night, she hears crying somewhere in the house, but all of the servants claim that they didn't hear anything, then walk quickly away. She gives up for then.
Then, trying to jump rope inside, she is told to go outside by her caretaker.
The focus then switches to the gardener's apprentice, who happens to be related to the maids/servants. He is shown to be planting lots of plants, then talking to a robin about his daily life.
The girl then skips onto the stage, and after some conversation, decide that she could be his friend. After picking up the corn, the gardener walks away, and the girl walks towards the house.
The next day, the girl hears crying again, and as she intimidates one of the maids, the maid spills the beans that someone is there, but the mistress (caretaker) would fire them if they told. The girl then decides to snoop.
After snooping around, she finds a guy in the attic, about her age. He is a crippled, just like his father/her uncle, making them cousins. He is in a wheelchair, and is just as spoiled as she was. After fighting a bit, they become friends over a secret garden that was revealed from earlier hints.
Then was an intermission.
After the intermission, the girl found the key to the secret garden, and declares it hers, the gardener's apprentice's, and the crippled boy's secret. They then begin to plant seeds there, with the crippled boy getting better all the time, less spoiled, and stronger.
The uncle, in India, has a dream about his deceased wife who died in the garden (fell out of a tree, dont ask), and she says for him to go back and begin your life again.
He does, and at the same time he does, he manages to see his son walk for the first time in four years, and they all go off happily ever after :)
During this play, I was taking photos with my camera, a big, professional camera, and video recording. (long play, about 2 hours long).
I was taking good photos, but suddenly, the batteries died JUST before the final scene. I had to rush over to the media center, switch out the batteries, and run back before it ended, and managed to, getting pictures of the end hug and the bowing.
It was awesome :)
So, until next rambling post,
Xaviertrix
Well done son! I am so very proud of you!
