Hello avid readers!
I was recently browsing the school library, and when passing a common spot, I stopped dead. A series that I had started last year at school, a six book one, and the school library only had the first four of them!
But as I passed, I noticed two shiny new books on the shelf. The final two books!!!
I had been awaiting for this moment for such a long time, and hence immediately checked both of them out. I also signed up for battle of the books, my inspiration rekindled to read.
The series itself is called "The dragonback adventures", and focuses on a boy raised as a con man, and an alien dragon-thing that must work together with a human to survive. They go on an adventure against incredible odds to save the dragon's kin arriving in spaceships in a matter of months, and hence begins the series.
It is an incredible read, and kept my attention raptured on the words flying past my face in a flurry of pages for hours on end (about five) to read the 400-page books (1. they have small print, 2. i actually pay attention to the plot, and hence read slower), whereas usually it would only take three hours to read a book of that size.
I am currently 80 pages into the final book, and the action has not yet picked up, but the plot is incredibly interwoven.
If you were to only read one series throughout a long, long time (like 2 months!), I would certainly suggest this read!
So, without further ado, I end my post :p

You might like the series Dragonriders of Pern by Anne McCaffrey. There are about 18 novels/novellas and a few short stories. Very good SF books.
