As the door banged open, Scalt's ears rang. He was hiding in his clump of dirt again, praying that he wouldn't be seen.
Amazingly, the sailors were more worried then mean at that minute, and just bagged up the captain and Rebbo then left the cabin. Yay.
So, Scalt was safe for now, but for how much longer?
Back in the forest, the animals were freaking out. How much longer could Scalt hold out? As soon as his guard came, back alone, only one soul was restless. But that soul was the one most likely to intervene.
Deep underwater, a strange being sensed the distress of the animals. Unfortunately, a large anchor was trapping him down there. The animals would have to solve the problem themselves, but two splashes told him that there was one thing he could do to help...
And just a minute beforehand, the crew had dumped the two tied and gagged people off of the boat.
